1. GATHER INGREDIENTS

You'll need:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1¾ cups milk
  • ½ cup melted butter or vegetable oil
  • vanilla extract (optional)

2. PREHEAT WAFFLE IRON

Preheat waffle iron while preparing batter. For temperature settings, choose medium-high.

3. MIX DRY INGREDIENTS

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

4. MIX WET INGREDIENTS

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

5. COMBINE INGREDIENTS

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined, do not overmix.

6. PREPARE THE WAFFLE IRON

Lightly grease waffle iron with cooking spray or small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

7. COOK THE WAFFLES

Pour about one cup batter onto preheated waffle iron. Close lid and cook for about 3-5 minutes.

8. CHECK FOR DONENESS

Most waffle irons have an indicator light or sound when waffles are done. If not, carefully check to see that waffles are golden and crispy on the outside.

9. KEEP WAFFLES WARM

If making multiple waffles, keep warm by placing on a baking sheet in a low temperature oven (200°F) until ready to serve.

10. SERVE AND ENJOY!

Serve warm with toppings such as syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or powdered sugar. Enjoy!
